The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a yet-to-be-identified father for selling his three-month-old baby for the sum of N400,000.
The development was confirmed by the State Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement released on Twitter on Friday.
According to Hundeyin, the suspect sold the baby without the mother’s consent.
Hundeyin further disclosed that the yet-be-identified father perpetrated the crime with the help of his doctor friend.
After days of futile searching, the police were informed, swung to action, and found and arrested the culprits, including the doctor, and the woman who bought the three-month-old baby.
The state police spokesperson further said they have all been taken to the State CID to be prosecuted.
