After an abysmal start to the 2023/24 Premier League season, Manchester United appear to be turning the tides around as their players and coach swept the EPL awards for the month of November.
The club’s resurgence in November culminated in Harry Maguire securing the English Premier League’s Player of the Month award, while manager Erik Ten Hag claimed the Manager of the Month title.
Also Garnacho’s strike against Everton was named the premier league goal of the month.
During November, United triumphed in all three league encounters without conceding a single goal, benefiting from Maguire’s comeback into the starting lineup after a prolonged period out of favor under Ten Hag’s management.
The 30-year-old defender, criticized widely for subpar performances, faced a potential departure from Old Trafford earlier in the summer, which ultimately fell through when a proposed move to West Ham collapsed.
However, Ten Hag’s decision to reinstate Maguire instead of the struggling Raphael Varane proved fruitful.
With the former captain leading the defense, United secured three straight victories and became the only EPL team to maintain an unblemished record, keeping clean sheets in all matches.
Ten Hag’s bold move signals a positive shift in United’s form, as they continue to close in on the top four despite lingering in 6th place.
This marks the third Manager of the Month accolade for the Dutchman, although he remains behind legendary former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s record of 27 awards.
With United now on par with 5th-placed Tottenham in points, Ten Hag aims for this period to mark a turning point in the season at Old Trafford.
