Troops kill scores of ISWAP terrorists in Borno

Troops of 25 Task Force Brigade has attacked and killed several members of Islamic State of the west Africa Province in Borno Sate, on Monday.

This was disclosed in a statement by 25 Task Brigade yesterday in Borno.

According to Leadership, The terrorists met their waterloo in a failed attempt to attack the military in Komba village along the road to Damba yesterday.

The terrorists came out in their numbers riding on several Hilux trucks, MRAP and motorbikes engaged the troop in a fierce battle.

According to source, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lak Chad, Zagazola Makama who confirmed the failed attack said the Air Task Force deloyed fighter aircraft which aid to fight the terrorists.

He said, “Effort of the Air Task Force and the ground troops led to the elimination of the several of the insurgents while others escaped with degrees of bullet wounds.”

A military source also revealed that they succeeded in collecting one Gun truck, MRAP and three motorcycles from the terrorist.

“ISWAP terrorists have continued to suffer humiliating defeat in the hands of our troops. On January 13, the troops killed several of the terrorist and destroyed their MRAP when they attacked own troops in Azir.”

He, however, attributed the victory to God saying, “The baggers attempted to try their luck on us but God was on our side. The victory is glaring.”

Commenting on the attack, Nigeria Army on its ‘twitter handle’, said, “In sustained operations to clear North East of terrorism, Troops of Operation Hadin Kai with close air support on December 1, have again neutralized several ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists around Wajiroko-Dambo road in Borno State.

The troops also confirmed guns trucks were recovered from the terrorists.
