Premier League side, Arsenal Football Club narrowly defeated Crystal Palace by a lone goal.
After a goaless first half of the match, Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard scored from the penalty spot to give Arsenal the lead in the 54th minutes.
Arsenal hopes of extending the lead was hampered 67th minutes after Tomiyasu received his second yellow card of the game which led to his dismissal.
A late fight by the seagulls was contained by the Gunners who went on to defend their lead, to record their second win in two games of the season.
Speaking after the game, Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice told Skysport, “When you’re a player on that pitch and you look at the clock with 20 minutes to go against a young, athletic Crystal Palace side, you know it’s going to be tough. But you’ve got to have courage if you want to win titles and I think we deserved it in the end.
“It was a massive relief to get through 20 minutes. We controlled the game completely when we went down to ten men but we put our bodies on the line to get three points.
“I think at the start of the season we have ref meetings and they explain the rules. We know we get yellows for time-wasting. To see seven, eight minutes go up can be frustrating but that’s the new law.
“Against Forest we played a diamond and I was left side. Tonight I was the pivot and I dropped back one spot, I’ve learned a lot in four weeks. To play at the highest level you need to be one of the best and I want to keep flourishing.”
Arsenal currently occupy the third position on the league table with the same points with Brighton, who occupy the first position and Manchester City who sit second.
