The operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have intercepted a vehicle conveying three suspected criminals in Yola in the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
Nguroje said that the operatives attached to Yolde Pate Divisional Headquarters, while on confidence-building patrol along Yola-Yadim Road, intercepted the vehicle with registration number GME 2354 AE.
He disclosed that the vehicle had three occupants when it was driven to the point where it was intercepted.
“The driver, upon citing security check, drove recklessly to beat the security check but was chased to a corner. They immediately abandoned the vehicle and escaped arrest,” the police explained.
“The recovered vehicle was searched immediately, leading to the recovery of two daggers, a chain, a padlock, and some charms suspected to be used in perpetrating kidnapping activities,” the police said.
The police spokesperson said the Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, assured that criminals would never escape arrest in the state.
The CP urged members of the public to give timely information that could help apprehend the fleeing criminals.
