Nigeria’s electricity supply has once again faced a significant decline, dropping from a peak of 3,594.60 megawatts (MW) around 1:00 a.m. to a critically low 42.7MW at the time of this report.
According to Nairametrics, at mid-day today, the sole functioning power plant on the grid was the Delta Power plant, generating 41.00MW, while Afam contributed a mere 1.7MW.
This incident comes in the wake of two recent grid failures in a span of just over 12 hours, leading to a nationwide blackout.
Recall that PUNCH METRO last week reported that the minister of power, stated that the grid failure was caused by a fire outbreak at the Kainji/Jebba station.
