Ekiti-born chef, Miss Damilola Adeparusi has hit 100hours in her quest to break Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.
A video obtained by the Punch Metro indicates that the student of University, Oye-Ekiti, Ilupeju-Ekiti has gone past 100hrs and is gliding towards achieving her aim.
Despite criticism from some Nigerians that Chef Dami should have waited for Hilda Baci to get certified by Guinness book of records, she got a text from Hilda who encouraged her to embrace the journey, learn from every experience and inspire others.
Baci wrote“The beauty of dreams is that they are unique to each individual,” Hilda Baci wrote.
“Dami, your boldness to take on a cooking challenge shows that passion knows no limits.
“Embrace the journey, learn from every experience, and inspire others with your unwavering spirit.”
Also the first Lady of Ekiti State, Yemi Oyebanji, also endorsed Damilola Adeparusi
In a tweet on Sunday, Oyebanji said Adeparusi’s attempt is a show of determination and courage.
The first lady, while assuring Adeparusi of her support, said the chef is using talent to make a positive statement.
“The last 70 hours have been about Chef Dammy @dammypas, a determined Ekiti undergraduate, who is making a bold attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon,” Oyebanji wrote.
“For me, it’s her courage and determination to stand for something positive, using her God-given talent to make a statement.
The Governor of Ekiti State, Abiodun Oyebanji was said to have put a call across to Chef Dami.
She has continued to receive support from different quarters since she started the journey.
She is currently cooking at an apartment in the community of Oye Local Government Area.
Adeparusi started her 120 hours marathon cooking task at 12am on Friday but in a very small space kitchen with little ventilation.
