The Honorable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has revealed that he has approved the training of staff of the ministry.
The former lawmaker stated this during a recent town hall meeting in Abuja with the Joint Union Negotiating Council of the Ministry of Interior.
During the meeting, the minister passionately stressed the essential role of professionalism and unswerving commitment in the execution of their duties, stating, “Your welfare is of utmost importance to me. If I provide support, I expect your commitment to duty in return. Government business is now everybody’s business.”
While announcing the training of workers in the ministry, he stated, “as a matter of fact, nothing can be more important to me than your welfare. That’s the truth.
“And, I have my reasons because to whom much is given, much is expected. If I do not give to you, it is difficult for me to expect you to give back.
“So, if I give you support, it becomes a responsibility on your path to give me support. And, the only way to give me support is by your dedication to duty.
“The era of people thinking government’s business is nobody’s business is gone. Government business is your business, and everybody’s business.
“I have given approval for your training exercise as well as other welfare packages.”
Speaking on his readiness to work with the union, the Minister noted that the RenewedHope agenda of the President required dedication to service, and the full demonstration of professionalism across board.
“Please be rest assured that I am with you. We are going to work together, and above all, I want you to be proud as members of staff of the Ministry of Interior.
