The Ogun State Government has appointed ace Nollywood actor, Odunlade Adekola, as its Health Insurance Ambassador.

The Commissioner for Health of the state, Dr Tomi Coker, announced the appointment during the health insurance scheme event held at the Ogun State Health Insurance Agency, Abeokuta, on Monday.

According to Coker, the move was a follow-up to the formal launch of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund and Health Insurance for the informal sector on February 6, 2022.

Coker said, “The health insurance scheme has multiple schemes in one basket. We have registered 50, 000 vulnerable people in the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund and the Health insurance for the informal sector running actively since its formal launch by Governor Dapo Abiodun in February.”

The Commissioner opined that the Adekola was beckoned as the Ogun State Health Insurance brand ambassador due to his fame, brilliance and impact in the movie industry, adding that he’s capable of influencing the promotion and engaging the general public in the insurance process.

“Our multi-talented brand ambassador, Odunlade Adekola, is a familiar face to many people given his brilliance and fame. I am confident that he would contribute effectively to our efforts to engage the public in our insurance process,” Coker said.
